4 policemen, bank officials killed in Osun bank robbery, says CP.

Osogbo – Mr Kola Sodipo, the Commissioner of Police in Osun, on Saturday said that two police men were killed during a bank robbery in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area on Friday. Sodipo, who disclosed this at a news conference in Osogbo, said that two bank officials were also killed by the dare-devil robbers during the operation. He said that the deceased were the first target of the robbers on arrival.

Miriam Gakenia,31, and her fiance James Mwangi, 27, had gone to buy wedding items but were injured in a road accident at Kiangwachi area along Nyeri-Nairobi highway on Tuesday, December 15.

Their wedding was to take place at Dominion Towers Deliverance Church today, Saturday December 19.

Gakenia suffered a right hip joint injury and a broken right arm while Mwangi’s right hand was injured.

Finally, authorities of the West African Examinations Council on Friday, gave the details of the candidates’ performance in the November/ December 2015 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The council, in a statement by its Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Demianus Ojijeogu, said that only 67,713 out of the 237,154 candidates that sat for the examination obtained credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
