Sacking Of The “Director General of Budget” Is Not Enough, Withdraw Budget, Fayose Tells Buhari.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that mere sacking of the Director General of Budget, Yahaya Gusau and appointment of new one would not erase the national embarrassment generated by the errors of the 2016 budget, insisting that the budget must be withdrawn from the National Assembly and a new and error free one represented.

Erstwhile Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Tuesday, expressed deep concern that his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), needs prayers.
Fani-Kayode’s statement may not be unconnected to reports that the party’s caucus chose former Borno State Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, as its acting national chairman, pending when the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), will ratify his appointment.

The 45th convocation ceremony of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) which is scheduled to take place on Friday 19th February, 2016 will see a total of 13,554 students receive various degree certificates.
The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, stated this at the pro-convocation press briefing, held at the Enugu Campus of the institution yesterday 15th Feb 2016.

Two pressure groups – the Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria (COFAN) and the Coalition of Nigerian Consumer Protection Associations – have called on all Nigerians to observe a “no banking day” on March 1st and avoid all forms of banking services nationwide.
The call to boycott banking services was made at a press briefing on Monday by the president and founder, CAFON, Sola Salako; and founder, Market Ombudsman, Dr. Ope Banwo, where the groups lamented new charges and stamp duty recently introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which the groups believed it is illegal.

Human rights lawyer, Mr Femi Falana, SAN has threatened legal action against the Federal Government if it make good its plan to borrow loan to finance the 2016 budget.
In a letter to the minister of finance, Falana argued that rather than borrowing fresh loan, government should strive to recover debts owed it by different groups and institutions.
According to him, it was real that the government has decided to apply for a loan of $2.5 billion from the World Bank and $1 billion from the African Development Bank for the purpose of financing the 2016 Budget, in spite of its debt profile of $64 billion.

Nasarawa local government council of Nasarawa state has 30 drivers on its payroll, earning salary monthly but there’s only one functional car in the council and it belongs to the local government chairman.
The commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani, stated this in Lafia while reacting to the refusal of labour to make necessary concessions in spirited efforts to end the ongoing strike by workers in the state.
