The management of Ecobank Nigeria has fired 1040 of its staff. A source in the bank says the job cut was initially pegged at 1400 but it was reviewed down to 1040.

A statement by the bank’s Managing Director, Charles Kie, states that certain jobs in the bank are being streamlined for a reduced number of people to do so as to bring about improved efficiency.

ABUJA— Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has called for a restructuring of the Nigerian federation to cater for the aspirations of its component units. According to him, such restructuring is the only answer to the current agitation for a Biafra Republic.

 The ex-vice president spoke,  yesterday,  in Abuja, at the unveiling of a book, ‘We are all Biafrans,’ written by a journalist, Chido Onumah. “When I was invited to chair this occasion, I immediately understood that the title of the book is a metaphor for the legitimate feelings of marginalization by diverse segments of Nigerians that cut across the country.

The Kwara state Police command has paraded a most wanted deadly cultist in the state,Olatunji Ibrahim popularly known as Ariyo and eight others.

The notorious cultist was declared wanted by the Kwara State Government and Police Command with a N50million reward for whoever had information about his whereabouts. While parading the criminals on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Sam Okaula said the cultist and his group in 2015 led members of his gang to unleash terror on some communities in the state.
