Polls: New Deputy Police Commissioner resumes in Kwara...to receive directives from PDP stalwarts?

Indications have emerged that the Kwara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is bent on capturing the state at all cost in the general elections with the use of institutions of state.

To this end, a new Deputy Commissioner of Police allegedly redeployed in the State ahead of the elections, has resumed in office, The Herald learnt yesterday. His redeployment in the state was at the behest of some PDP chieftains who were allegedly confident in "federal might" to deliver the state at all cost.

The Herald had exclusively reported in one of its previous editions that a new deputy police commissioner might be deployed in the state to carry out the bidding of the highest order. It was learnt that the former deputy commissioner of police in the state was posted out of the state following his alleged refusal to "play ball" with the PDP and his alleged suspicious romance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) led government in the state.

The new deputy commissioner of police upon his arrival in the state, was said to have visited some chieftains of the PDP in the state where secret meetings were held on modality to be adopted in winning the state for the PDP. A source told The Herald that the police chief was allegedly instructed by the most senior Police Officer to map out strategies and work in tandem with PDP stalwarts on how to recapture Kwara in the elections, which commences with presidential poll in the next five days.

A female financier of the PDP in the state whose son is gunning for the House of Representatives seat on the platform of the party allegedly registered his displeasure about the conduct of the Area Commander Metro, accused of working with the APC and must be redeployed for his non cooperation to ensure that the PDP wins the election for Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency.

Similarly, the deputy governorship candidate of the PDP was said to be uncomfortable with the influence of the leader of the APC, Senator Bukola Saraki and the whole system in the state and sought maximum cooperation of the new DCP. He allegedly said the former DCP was redeployed because of his refusal to cooperate with the PDP in the state.
