Fayose Addresses Ado-Ekiti Over Hausa, Road Workers Clash
Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State
The dusk-to-dawn curfew imposed on Ado-Ekiti on May 22 by Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state has been lifted.

The governor speaking in a broadcast to the people of Ado-Ekiti to call off the curfew described the crisis between the Hausa community and commercial drivers in Ado-Ekiti as unfortunate.
The governor begged residents to be law abiding and conduct themselves in a manner that will continue to see law and order rule in the state, Leadership reports.
Fayose said the curfew imposed on the state was lifted after security agents had restored normalcy in the state.

The governor pleaded with the residents of the state capital whose movements and activities might have been restricted by the curfew.
The governor also condemned the recent kidnappings in the state saying the state government will not relent in its effort to fight it adding that a N2 million-ransom has been placed for anybody that could provide information that will assist police in arresting those that kidnapped 11 people in different parts of the state recently.

Fayose had imposed a curfew on the state capital following attacks on Sabo, a Hausa community in Ado-Ekiti, which was allegedly orchestrated by members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), reportedly acting on instructions of the Peoples Democratic Party-led government in the State.
In response, Fayose relocated the Hausas from their community in Atikankan in Ado Ekiti to Sasa along Ikere road.
