Gov. Ahmed Approves Appointment of Four New Traditional Rulers.



The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has approved and presented letter of appointments to four new traditional rulers in the state. The new monarchs are Emir of Ilesha Baruba, Professor Halidu Abubakar; Oloota of Odo-Owa, Prince Joshua Adeyemi Adimula; Oba of Afin, Prince Mathew Olatunji Ajiboye and Onigbonna of Igbonna, Prince Abubakar Oloyede Oyelowo.

The Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Hajia Kikelomo Sidikat Amasa while presenting the letter appointments to the monarch stated that this was done in accordance to the power conferred on Governor by Section 3 and 5 of (Chiefs Appointments and Deposition) Law cap C9-Laws of Kwara State 2006. She said that appointment of these new Emirs/Obas takes effect from May 18th, 2015. 

The Permanent Secretary congratulated the traditional rulers, praying almighty God to grant them success. She disclosed that the Governor approved the names of the new monarchs after the King Makers in the affected Council had followed due processes for selections. Hajia Amasa said that official date for collection of Certificates and Oath of Offices in accordance with the Chieftaincy Law of the State would be conveyed to the Royal Fathers at appropriate time.
