Offa Chairman laments dwindling revenue from FAAC.

The Chairman of Offa Local Government, Prince Segun Abdulwaheed Olanipekun has decried the dwindling revenue from the Federation Account since September 2013 that he assumed office.

Olanipekun stated this, in an interview with The Herald On Sunday revealing that as at September 2013, the federal allocation received was N2,011,396,683.29 compared to what was received in February 2015 which amounted to N1,536,237,282.00, leaving a difference of N485,159,401.29.

The same scenario he revealed continued with further reduction in February 2015 to N1,465,404,850.63, making a difference of N60,832,431.30, and stressed that a reduction of over N60,000,000 between one month has drastically affected development at the grassroots which has also resulted in the inability to pay salaries and enhance development at the local government level.

"It is worrisome that the Federal Government has ascribed the dwindling revenue to stolen crude oil, which means that the PDP led Federal Government has failed in its responsibilities of managing Nigerian resources", he added.

Olanipekun urged the people to vote out the PDP led government which is not only malfunctioning but has also stagnated development of the grassroots.
