Kwara State Commissioner of Police(CP) Mr. Salihu Garba on Thursday warned criminals and political thugs to stay away from the state during general polls.
He said that anybody caught endangering the smooth conduct of the polls will be dealt with according to the law of the land.
Speaking at a press conference in Ilorin on Thursday on the level of preparation of the state police command for this Saturday elections, Garba also said that, the state police command has deployed required numbers of police personnel that would curtail any breakdown of law and order during the polls.
According to him, "The state police command is poised to ensure that all eligible voters are well protected so as to assist them to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice without any hindrance during the polls.
"There is no way for any intruders and criminals that would thwart the efforts of peaceful conduct of the polls because the police command would contend any such move during the poll".
Garba added that, the eligible voters after voting during the polls should stay away of 300km in line with the electoral law of the country and wait for the outcome of the results of the polls.
He stressed that, the police command would not also allow any fake security personnel to operate adding that anybody caught will be made to face the full wrath of law.
