ABEOKUTA – Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said one of the problems facing Nigeria is lack of continuity.
Obasanjo stated this while receiving the immediate-past Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence , Dr. Ade Abolurin, Tuesday, at his private residence in Abeokuta .
The former President said some essentials things would be maintained and preserve through continuity in governance.
Abolurin who was accompanied by his wife, Aderonke and states commandants of the Corps in the South West to Obasanjo’s residence during his ‘homecoming’ visit , described his 10 years journey as ‘rough, tough and challenging’.
In his remarks, Obasanjo explained that he institutionalised the NSCDC while he held sway as President of the country because of the” virtue of the good work the organisation was doing as a voluntary organisation for many years”.
Obasanjo said “One of the things that I had to confront in my tenure as President of Nigeria was pipeline vandalisation, holdup, and crude oil stealing, that stealing is what they called bunkering, there is nothing like bunkering, it is outright stealing.
