2019 Senate Seat: No Rift With Gov Ahmed - Rafiu Ibrahim.

Senator Rafiu Ibrahim (Kwara South) has denied there is a rift between him and Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed. Some online publications recently claimed there is a feud between the two caused by the alleged desire of Ahmed to replace Ibrahim at the Senate in 2019
Below is the text of Senator Ibrahim's press release

The insinuation of rift between myself and the state Governor in some quarters is an act of gullibility and a total wrong of miscalculation of some idle minds.

The APC as a political party in Kwara State under the leadership of the Nigerian Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is a one big family with the utmost concern of delivering good governance to her people as the most priority.

It is worthy to note that as the current Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial District in the eighth Senate, I enjoy a very cordial relationship with my big brother; His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Abdulfatah Ahmed on how to bring development to our people in the state.

We both owe it as duty to our people various developmental policies and programmes to better the lives of our people and the State in general. In all honesty, it is rather unfair for anybody or group of persons to start talking about 2019 elections when we have barely spent nine months in office. I think what should be paramount now at every level of government is how to improve on our economy which is facing serious challenges now.

Efforts must be geared by all arms of government (Executive, Legislative and Judiciary) towards curbing corruption, increase the value of the Naira, diversify the economy, promote Made in Nigeria goods, create employments opportunities, strengthen our security, health, and education.

Signed:
Senator Rafiu Ibrahim PhD, FCIB
Chairman Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions
