Alofa of Iloffa Donates Office to NSCDC

The Alofa of Iloffa in Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Samuel Dada, has provided the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) with office accommodation.

Speaking at the handing over of the office and a motorcycle at Iloffa, Dada said the task of securing lives and property should be the collective responsibility of all stakeholders.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that incessant robbery attacks, especially on banks in Kwara South Senatorial District had been a matter of concern to security agencies in the state.

“As a peace loving people, the community has built offices in two locations in Iloffa for men of the NSCDC in order to complement government’s efforts at strengthening security in the area,’’ the traditional ruler said.

Dada decried the security challenges facing the district and asked Nigerians to collaborate with government in championing the course of community policing.

“I urge citizens to be alive to their civic responsibility of collaborating with government through prompt report of any act of criminal and economic sabotage to the relevant security agencies,” he said.

The chairman of the council, Mr Akin George, in a message to the forum commended the traditional ruler for the gesture, saying it would assist in securing the community.

George, who was represented by a councillor, Mr Sola Adeoti, called on other traditional rulers in the area to emulate Dada’s exemplary leadership role.

Receiving the donation, the NSCDC Unit Commander in the area, Mr Salami Stephen, thanked the traditional ruler and entire people of the community for the gesture.
He promised that the facilities would be judiciously used.
